Personality: Cornell is an overall good guy. He’s the type of guy who’d stop and help others out even if he’s in a hurry. He does stand up for what he believes in. He’s a bit dumb sometimes. He does have a sense of humor but it’s a bit morbid and twisted. He’d like to consider himself noble of heart or a knight in shining armor. He believes in things that don’t actually exist. He doesn’t really celebrate holidays and he has some other strange beliefs that are apart of Romanian culture. One of those beliefs is, “Sitting on concrete or the ground will make you sterile.” He’s a bit flamboyant and isn’t shy about it. He’s also a bit loud, but he does know when to stay quiet.

How Your Character Got to Malaise House (keep in mind Malaise is an AU):
Cornell was born in Romania. When he was young his parents both died and he was adopted by a friend of the family. Given his strange looks, the family often treated him with disdain and fear. He was hidden when guests would arrive and he did most of the household chores. Often times he was treated as a rabid animal. The only member of the family that treated him as their equal was Ada, his sister. She may have been their daughter, but she truly loved Cornell and in return Cornell loved and protected her all throughout their childhood. He may have disliked his situation with the rest of the family while growing up, but he didn’t hate them. He was allowed outside of the house and he wasn’t beaten. Outside of the family, he had a best friend that lived down the street, Ortega; a wild boy who loved to fight. Little did Cornell know Ortega was jealous of him.
After his parents died, Cornell went on a journey so he could protect Ada; leaving her under the watchful eye of Ortega. On his journey he trained in martial arts and entered a tournament for money so he could afford food for Ada and himself. He didn’t come out on top, but he did get second place. Afterwards he returned home to find his town burned to the ground and his sister gone. Feeling frantic, Cornell went on a search for her. His journey took him across Romania, and no one seemed to have seen her.
When Cornell did find her, he was shocked. She was in the hands of Ortega and a gang. Ortega’s jealousy had led him to join a gang in hopes of beating Cornell. The gang consisted of a woman named Actrise, Gilles De Rais, Ortega, a few minor henchmen and a man who claimed to be the reincarnate of Dracula. He also claimed that he was going to lead Romania back into glory and he wanted Cornell to join with him. When Cornell declined, they killed Ada in front of him much to Ortega’s pleasure. This caused Cornell’s whole world to shatter. They attacked him in this moment of weakness, and with so many of them, Cornell failed. They spent months torturing him, and each day asked if he’d join them. Each day he declined until he lost the will to respond. He never joined them, but he spent a lot of time alone, until the police raided the house. They found him holding the decaying body of his sister, speaking to her. They took him in and gave Ada a proper burial. When they asked Cornell questions about what happened he spun such a wild story that he was then committed to Malaise house.

Diagnosis: Post-traumatic stress disorder, psychosis, and clinical lycanthropy.
